Grandma Stella reflects on a beautiful road she called “the magical road” for the children in her life, noting how its beauty changes with the seasons. She shares how, even after forty years, those children, now adults, still cherish the memory of their magical road.
We have this beautiful road that takes us out of the highway on our way home. I used to tell all the children in my life that we were going through the magical road. The branches overhead seem to hold hands above us. The leaves change colours with each season. In winter, the snow covers the bare branches, as if to warm them. It is a road of breathless beauty. Forty years have passed since I first discovered that road. All those children who are in their advanced adulthood, still call it their magical road.
